DE : Nach umfangreicher Recherche zum Thema R5 Augenposition habe ich nun für meine Dome eine flexible Lösung gefunden. Der Vergleich verschiedenster Daten hat ergeben, dass offenbar die im Film verwendeten R5-Droiden nicht nach den Blueprint-Files (gebohrt) wurden. Ich habe jetzt versucht diesen Fehler mithilfe einer Bildanalyse zu klären.
EN: After extensive research on the subject of R5 eye position, I have now found a flexible solution for my dome. Comparing various data has shown that the R5 droids used in the film were obviously not (drilled) according to the blueprint files. I have now tried to clarify this error using image analysis.
Es gibt aktuell vier mir bekannte Bohrabstände für die Augen vom R5.
There are currently four drilling distances for the eyes of the R5 that I know of.
- ca. 82 mm als Angabe aus den Styreen Dome Files TYPE A | approx. 82 mm as specified in the Styreen Dome Files TYPE A
- ca. 128 mm in der 3D Print File für den gedruckten Dome TYPE C | approx. 128 mm in the 3D Print File for the printed Dome TYPE C
- ca. 150 mm (90° Winkel zu den Dome Panels) aus den original Blueprints von Astromech.net | approx. 150 mm (90° angle to the dome panels) from the original blueprints from Astromech.net
Alle diese Abstände schauen beim Vergleich mit einem Filmfoto aber nicht korrekt aus.

Um der Sache näherzukommen, habe ich einen Screenshot mit einem bekannten Maß verglichen. Das Door Panel für die große Tür am R2 hat ca. 99 mm.
To get a better idea, I compared a screenshot with a known measurement. The door panel for the large door on the R2 is about 99 mm.
